ADHD low-energy day: a minimum day plan
in 30 seconds
- On a low-energy day, swap the plan for a minimum day.
- Body basics first, then only the one thing that truly can’t wait.
- Everything else gets parked until a named day. Getting through counts.
On a low-energy day, replace your normal plan with a minimum day: body basics, the one thing that truly can’t wait (if there is one), and permission to let everything else wait. On a low day, getting through counts as doing.
The minimum day checklist
- Drink some water.
- Eat something. Anything counts.
- Take what your body needs today.
- Fresh air or an open window, for one minute.
- Rest, without earning it first.
The one thing that can’t wait
Is there one? If yes, do only its first tiny step. If not, that’s your answer for today.
Everything else can wait until…
Pick a day and write it down. Parked isn’t forgotten.

A song, cold water on your face, one minute outside. If you made a dopamine menu, pick a starter.
If low energy lasts for weeks, or comes with a low mood that doesn’t lift, please talk to a doctor or someone you trust.
Questions people ask
Is it okay to do nothing else?
Yes. Protecting your energy on a low day makes the next days easier.
How do I know what can’t wait?
Ask: what happens if this waits until Thursday? If the answer is “nothing bad”, it can wait.
What if every day feels like this?
Then it’s more than a low day. Please talk to a doctor or someone you trust.
